Fiction Friday 100-Word Challenge: A Library Door, Maybe?

Here is the prompt. Are we looking at some sort of private library or is it an opening to somewhere else, disguised as a library utility door? Why are the books to old? Is there an order in the seeming chaos of the shelves?

Last week you came up big, with a bunch of solid stories. We’d love to have even more of your clever stories here this week. Come and share with us!

  1. The old man, draped in a faded silk robe, rose up from behind a stack of water logged books. The girl held a silver dagger, but kept it pointed down, toward the stone floor.
“Do you guard the exit?” The girl asked. She was thin and her clothes were threadbare. She gestured toward the door set into the stacks of books, marveling at the excess. Paper books had been outlawed generations before.
The old man did not answer. Instead, he motioned toward the door.
“Is this a library?” The girl asked.
“No,” the old man replied, “It is a temple.”
