You know the economy is in the shitter when the only job offer you can get is babysitting a possessed doll for a couple of crazy-ass Europeans in a drafty haunted house with no wi-fi or cell coverage. But that’s the gig that Greta (the main character of The Boy) takes when she travels overseas to be a nanny to “Brahms”, who she assumes to be a real-life child. That turns out to be a silly assumption because Brahms is not real. He’s a doll, and his “parents” seem to be deranged. But Greta still takes the job. (What did I tell you about dumb honkies in my last review of The Forest?) Part Twilight Zone, part Bride of Chucky, this flick has a great twist, and the whole thing is creepy as balls. I loved it.
