Joia Monet – Back To School Fashion – Look #1

September has arrived. There are only three months left in the year. Where has 2016 gone?! I’m sure I’m not the only one to witness the all the “back to school” posts on social media. From children’s very first day of kindergarten to teenagers beginning their freshman year of high school. With tons of pictures being uploaded by both parents who aren’t ready to leave their kids and those who have waited all summer to get them out of their house, I decided on a back to school series for the remainder of the month with looks that will cater towards those attending college. I wanted to give some ideas and put together some pieces that you haven’t really seen from me – something that can be worn in the everyday real world.

Today’s first look encompasses my usual girly style, with a casual twist. I purchased this grey and pink striped dress with quarter-length sleeves from Ross some years ago (so you know the price wasn’t more than $15). The pockets are my favorite, obviously, and it also has belt loops on each side wear it cinches at the waist.

Since the days will be getting cooler as the fall season approaches, this floral, Lush blazer will keep things pretty warm and comfortable. It was about this time last year that I snagged it on sale at Nordstrom Rack for $29.97, which originally went for $65. These ballerina flats remind me of my junior high and high school days when I took pointe dance classes. I have to get at least 2 more pair, that’s how much I can’t get enough of them. These Madden Girls are a new buy from Burlington’s (duh!) that started at $30, but I left the store only paying $15.99.

Add a fringe cross-body, turn one of your favorite necklaces into a bracelet, and you have a stylish and easygoing outfit that will allow you the comfort to get across campus. You all know my motto: get creative, shop smart, and stay true to you. Until next time!!
