It’s a Groovy Friday Alumni Jam

This week, in anticipation of our final Groovy Friday post (December 29th,) I’m presenting a grand potpourri, an all-star jam if you will, featuring many favorite Groovy Friday alumni in all new (to Groovy Friday) clips. Let’s get started!

First up, it’s beachy grooviness from Annette Funicello & Frankie Avalon. They each had their own week, but they’re even better as a pair.

Nancy Sinatra walked her boots all over Groovy Friday last December. I probably didn’t include this because of the poor quality, but it rocks.

Chita Rivera (not Rita Moreno) was pretty for us [] last year. Here she shows off her dancer’s legs to full effect.

Sir Thomas Jones Woodward provided one of my favorite clips. Here he is with lots and lots and lots of dancers performing his signature song.

Joey Heatherton had our number in late Spring of 2016. There’s no end to the groovy clips you can find of this woman. Here’s one of them.

The Wham of Sam! Sammy Davis Jr. epitomizes the word groovy. Here’s a late sixties clip of inferior quality. Despite that, the “wham” still shines through.

Ann Margret and Elvis Presley have appeared here separately and together.

Here’s a groovy clip of Elvis, hovering between his mid-sixties persona and what would become his his seventies persona.

Dig those outfits!

Wrapping things up, it’s a double helping of Ann Margret. First a tame striptease from “Viva Las Vegas” that really gets going around the two minute mark.

Finally this clip, in glorious black and white, from Ann’s 1961 screen test. Oh, lordy!

There never was, nor will there ever be anyone quite like her.

Have a groovy weekend!
