Behold the prompt! Remember. 100 words, no more no less. Have to use the prompt in some way. Could be inspiration. Could be an actual thing in the story. Could be…anything! Here’s how I used it:
——————————-
All Bruce wanted for his birthday was to be a superhero. He sent letters to every Academy, Fortress, and Sanctum, but none replied.
His parents hated his silliness. They intercepted his letters, hid his books, and took him to sensible movies where cars talked and hamsters flew spaceships. They tried to remove the word “superhero” from his world.
They failed.
The night before his birthday, he poured out his heart’s desire to starlight starbright until he fell asleep, exhausted.
In the morning he stretched his new wings, dark as the shadows of a crime-ridden alley, and smiled.
They would do.
