To any deceased person from any time in history.
It was an intriguing offer, yet the decision had rendered Angela paralyzed ever since she stumbled across this ancient telephone in the corner of her local bodega. So weird that she’d never seen it before. It wasn’t well hidden – just discretely tucked between the cat litter and laundry soap. Was the sign just a joke? Would she get a shock if she touched it? There was only one way to find out. Angela slowly raised the receiver to her ear and cautiously whispered, “Grandma”.
